The weather, currently.
I’m still young, but I’m old. I wake up with my elbows and knees aching. It’s too cold for me, but I’m in Los Angeles, so it’s not even cold. Are you diving underneath blankets the moment a thermometer displays any number below 55? I keep dreaming of a house full of throw blankets, strategically placed on every chair and bed.
Wednesday is a bit of a reset for LA. No more rain in the forecast. Sunshine, clear skies, dry nights. But we’re now officially in winter, and high temperatures peak at about 60°, meaning the rest of the day middles in the 50s and tests the thickness of your skin. I’m rotating through my slim sweater collection quickly. Wednesday night might require both a crewneck and a knitted throw. Temps will fall below 50°F by 8pm, and eventually reach a low of 42°F.
What you need to know, currently.
We are ramping up efforts to finish building Project Mushroom ASAP — a safe platform to promote connection, mutual aid, and transformative action at a critical moment in history.
As a supporter of Currently we’re inviting you to be one of the first to join Project Mushroom today — A platform is only as good as the people in it, right?
You can get a Project Mushroom account by following this link. Best practice is to use the same username you had on Twitter to help people find you. If you get stuck, check out our On-Boarding Instructions and our Support Page below, or email us: email@example.com
We’re also giving you the first access to something we've been working on for weeks: An automated tool to help you import your friends from Twitter and rebuild your social media networks on Project Mushroom.
Our Twitter-to-Project Mushroom migration assistant is live now! https://start.projectmushroom.social/
This tool is a work in progress, so please bear with us. It will only work if you first register for Project Mushroom and select your username using the steps above. If you see any funky bugs, email firstname.lastname@example.org
From the very beginning, we've promised Project Mushroom to be a safe place on the internet — and this tool is designed for you to share this space with your most trusted allies, friends, and colleagues that you want to change the world with. We are the only Twitter alternative (as far as I know) that has a team of paid moderators — and a commitment to racial, social, and climate justice. Our goal is to make migrating your entire social network from Twitter as easy, safe, and enjoyable as possible.
Your support has made it possible for us to build this community, and we aren't finished yet. We have a Kickstarter going right now, and we need your help getting it across the finish line. We’ve raised almost 100k and have 10 more days to raise 100k more. When you pledge your support, you’ll have a chance to vote on an exclusive Project Mushroom sticker design.
Is this all a lot of info? We feel you. Tomorrow night — Wednesday, December 7th at 7 PM EST — we’re hosting an information session to tell you more about Project Mushroom and answer your questions. Reserve your spot now!
